Is IPENZ Student Membership for me?
You can apply for IPENZ Student Membership if you're enrolled in a two-year engineering diploma, three-year engineering degree or four-year engineering degree at a New Zealand tertiary institution.
To make the most of your IPENZ Student Membership, you need to be an active Member. This means attending IPENZ Branch meetings, contributing to the IPENZ electronic student newsletter student direct and getting involved in IPENZ events.
How do I join?
Complete the online Student Membership application at www.ipenz.org.nz/ipenz/join (all details must be completed for your application to be processed). There is no cost for engineering students to join.
If your application is accepted, you will receive an email with your login and password. This will give you access to the student-only areas of the IPENZ website where you can use services like making your CV available to employers online.
Please note: as an IPENZ Student Member, you will not be issued with a certificate and you cannot put any postnominals after your name.
How long does IPENZ Student Membership last?
You can remain an IPENZ Student Member until you complete your tertiary studies, as long as you continue to promote the engineering profession and abide by the IPENZ Code of Ethics. Once you have graduated, you can apply for IPENZ Graduate Membership.
