Sports
ENSOC is dedicated to getting students out of the seats that have somehow moulded themselves into a perfect foam cast of your arse, and out onto the sporting fields, courts and waterways. ENSOC provides the opportunity for you to participate in their rugby, soccer and water polo teams and with the possibility of forming a indoor netball team and also a tennis ladder depending on interest.
Through the many decades that the Engineering School has been in existence the conquests of the Engineer's Rugby Team have become legendary. The team is famous for the ability to play with the ball in one hand and a jug of beer in the other. The Engineers XV is the oldest rugby team at University and currently competes in the local University social grade over 2nd and 3rd term. It also competes with the lesser faculties (Forestry, Law and Commerce) annually just to keep them in their place.
The Engineering Soccer Team competes in the local 2nd grade club competition but still remains a highly social affair with the help of a few kegs from ENSOC.
If you feel like not being a geeky slob , wish to start a team or event with the help of ENSOC funding, or just want a good social sporting experience you can contact Sean Husband at the ENSOC shop or via email: sports@ensoc.com
