First Pro Competitions

Introduction

Details of two long standing First Pro competitions are kept here to help ensure that they continue. The Mech Mile is held in the last Materials class of the year. Since it is shared with first pro Chemical and Process, they also take part. The Bush Inn Bike Race is an ancient first pro civil tradition that stretches back to the trainee Pyramid Builders of Egypt. It was revisited in 2002 and a shield was made which sits in the ENSOC trophy cabinet.

Bush Inn Bike Race

• Males have 4 to a team.
• Females have 3 to a team.
• Takes place during the last lecture of the last Thursday of the year.
• Starts when lecturer first talks in the class.
• Contestants relay to the Bush Inn and back on bikes, where they consume a jug.
• Competition ends when the last team member shakes the lecturers hand.
